Bandai World Gundam Competition
September 3, 2009 at 2:46 pm | In Gundam | Leave a Comment
I haven’t made a post in a while. I spent two weeks in Hong Kong last month. It was unbelievably hot. Anyway, Danny Choo had a little surprise for all the Gundam builders out there. The competition is online and anyone can enter, so I suggest everyone to give it a try.
There are four categories:
1) Coolest free-style Gunpla
From MG to PG – kitbash or plain original.
2) Cutest Super-Deformed (SD) Gundam
Is your SD Gundam the cutest of them all?
3) Coolest Gundam diorama
Inspire folks with your cool diorama.
4) Most amusing Gunpla
We all need a good laugh from time to time and we want your Gunpla to amuse us all.
Prizes has yet to be announced, but there’s a survey to ask Bandai what kit to produce next. The deadline is November 1st, so you better get started now. Laziness in this hobby always lead to last minute rushed entries (me in particularly).
See Figure.fm for the full details. Good Luck.
Liger Fury

BAM! My most creative paint job so far. Okay, maybe not THAT creative, but definitely better than solid stock colors. I’m not a hardcore fan of zoids, but I loved the blade liger design. I wanted to give it a fierce look and the original blue color just wouldn’t do the job.

It’s been about a month since my last posted work, but I can only get it done so fast. That’s what I get for using up my buffer works too fast. Anyway, this project is way overdue since I started in January. Continue reading PG Strike Commission Project Completed…
G-System (Models) Sazabi Bust Preview
June 24, 2009 at 2:02 pm | In Gundam | 3 Comments
The monster suit of Char’s Counter Attack now has a super bust! I was not particularly excited when I saw the first WIP photos of this model. The price was way out of my range and most Gundam Busts only have one feature: LED Light ups. (I wasn’t a fan of Sazabi at the time either.) However, this Model is unlike it’s predecessors. After I saw the finished product, I changed my mind entirely. This is now a MUST HAVE for my shelf!

Selling the Resin kits
May 24, 2009 at 1:58 am | In Gundam, PVC, Sale | Leave a CommentSo…I was actually planning on making a huge beach/pool diorama, but I don’t think I’ll ever get the chance to bring that to fruition. So, I’m going to have to let some of these go. They’re all recasts and there are no flaws unless stated. I take paypal, checks (preferred) and money order. Prices do not include shipping. Will ship pretty much anywhere.

Did a quick photo shoot of one of my favorite (okay, I lie. 2nd favorite) character from Warcraft. I don’t actually play WoW because I can’t actually afford paying monthly to maintain a digital character(s) online. Besides, it would take an even bigger chunk out of my already diminished hobby time. Anyway, I’m going to do a quick review of this one.
RX-0 Unicorn beta

I suppose I should have uploaded these pictures a while back. It was a pain to build the model, but I got it done in two weeks. Apparently, the kit has huge joint problems and I’m not talking about the knees. Anyway, I was quite happy with the result.
Revival and Updated ~ Ipod

Well, it’s been a few weeks. I finally get a break now. Over the last two months, I have been working my butt off with unbelievable amount of…well, work. I’ll try to quickly summarize what it was it has been like during my MIA.
Last week’s 4×100m Relay (Anchor)
1) Completed a 120 page tax return for a client. Not only is it long, it’s dead complicated and hard to organize. I slaved over 40 weekend hours getting it done. I’m glad that’s finally out of the way.
2) Still running, going to Track practice daily, and competitions on the weekend. My team (Hunter College Track & Field) recently came in 2nd in the CUNY Indoor T&F championship, losing only by 4 points. It was a huge disappointment, since one of our top athlete was sick and didn’t attend that weekend. We swear that this would not happen again for Outdoor Season.
3) I made my first publication. A small, but first add to my resume. It is printed in the Hunter College Athletic Newsletter and will soon expand elsewhere. Now, I’m just waiting for the results from the Fiction Short Story and Non-Fiction Essay Contests.
4) Despite being an English Major for Creative Writing, I’m terrible at Literature courses. It is now halfway through the semester now and I have actually done well with 3 papers and an in-class midterm (which are usually nightmares for me). For weeks, I’ve had to turn in a minimum of 1 paper and 1 test a week. Not unusual for college, but these are hard and exhausting considering how much of the above I was juggling at the same time.
5) I still have financial problems, but they’re better now. Hopefully, they will be gone by the time this semester is over.
And so, things are now a bit calm for now. I can’t even remember the last time I felt as relaxed as I am now. I’ll be getting back to building Gundams this weekend and hopefully, bring up more news.
For now, I have a review for my recently acquired toy.
A few months ago, I started experiencing problems with my 5th generation Ipod Video. The headphone jack became defective and only one side of the headphones made noise. I figured out that it was the jack since my headphones still work fine with other devices and when I push the plug in hard, it works fine. In an attempt to fix it, I cracked it open and tried tightening the jack by adding some bulk to it. Not only did this not solve the problem, the modification was too much to fit in the ipod and cracked the screen. I only used 0.5mm sterene sheet and yet, it was too much.

I think most of you should recognize that quote. Anyway, the ipod still works fine and I could fix it with replacement parts, but I’m not going to (for various reasons). I still use it as a hard drive for transferring files. But for my entertainment needs, I have this:

An 8gb (actually 7…Apple is a liar) Ipod touch 2nd Generation. The beautiful case is imported from Korea. These photos don’t even come close to how awesome it looks like in person. It comes with a Screen protector, the front plate, a plastic wood-like back plate, and a dragon plate for the rear. It took a while to get the case since the merchant shipped me the wrong case at first and I had to return it. However, he paid for return shipping and included a free extra sticker in the 2nd shipment. Overall, I’m very satisfied with it’s looks.
I’ll be reorganizing this weekend and will most likely get an update up on models soon. Look forward to it.
